We were aware of Matt’s work and knew previous clients who recommended him highly and know that he has considerable experience.

He has a reputation for finding ingenious solutions to complex problems and has great taste and we had a difficult project in mind. We felt that he took the time to understand what we wanted.

We were looking to build on a rather awkward site on two levels, and had rather firm ideas about what we wanted; however we were not at all clear whether or not these were technically realistic, or indeed if they would be acceptable to the planning authorities. Matt’s clever integration of traditional masonry and timber cladding, and use of an asymmetrical pitch to reduce the impact of the roadside profile produced a building that not only satisfied the planners, but gives us great joy, and brings daily praise from passers-by on the Speyside Way.

Matt had a very patient and flexible approach to working with us which helped a lot as our lifestyles can be a bit hectic.
