Farm Steading Conversion

Obtained permission for extending single storey wings of existing steading to 1.5 storeys and expanded footprint by use of single storey timber frame extensions for porches and to create additional living space, to facilitate conversion to 5 spacious 4 bedroom houses.
Properties all have extensive garden ground and take full advantage of the views to the Pentland hills beyond. In addition, the properties are to be highly energy efficient/ self sufficient – Hot water and heating is provided by a biomass boiler system with heat exchangers, and the buildings have been designed to be well insulated with low air permeability and continuous low level ventilation.
I designed the proposed house layouts and obtained planning permission, prepared detailed specification and drawings for warrant and building. Assisted the client on site with the build.
